Keukenhof

Stationsweg 166 A 2161 AM Lisse
Keukenhof

The Keukenhof is the world's largest flower garden. Located between the towns of Hillegom and Lisse south of Harlem , it attracts a staggering 800,000 people for a mere nine weeks every year. Nature's talents are combined with artificial precision to create a garden where seven million tulips and daffodils bloom, perfectly in place and exactly on time. Its opening dates vary slightly from year to year.

The best spot on the planet to tiptoe through the tulips is in full bloom this month at the Keukenhof Gardens in the Netherlands.

Some 7 million flowers -- many of them tulips -- turn this 80-acre field into a sea of color each spring. The gardens, outside the Dutch town of Lisse, are only open from March 22 to May 20 this year. Keukenhof makes for a good day trip from Amsterdam. Tickets to the gardens cost about $17 for adults, $8 for children.
