Nemo Museum Amsterdam

Oosterdok 2, Amsterdam
Nemo Museum Amsterdam

Science and technology buffs will find NEMO (The National Center for Science and Technology) to be one of the most interesting destinations in Amsterdam.
This science and technology center is the largest science museum in the Netherlands. Unlike most of the architecture in parts of Amsterdam, NEMO is more modern. The exterior of the building resembles a massive green ship docking on the Oosterdok (originally the building was copper but has turned green over time).
The interior can be a little awe-inspiring Skylights and staircases, multi-levels, and numerous colors fill the interior of the building. The structure has an intelligently designed viewing deck atop its sloping roof. Visitors who are uninterested in science and technology may find the viewing deck to be worth their while.
Usually, there is no charge and the view is absolutely gorgeous. Beanbag chairs are dispersed along the deck for visitors to lounge around. During the summer, the viewing deck is transformed into a “beach,” at which point a fee is charged. Having a good time, however, is almost a guarantee for all visitors. Numerous gadgets, experiments, and projects entertain the masses. While the targeted age group is between four and sixteen, children and adults are both amused with the numerous colorful and exciting exhibits. Temporary exhibits keep the museum fresh and new. Temporary exhibits include categories like human DNA, electricity, elements, weather… The list goes on. The museum is as interactive and entertaining as possible, catering to the wants and needs of parents and their children.
