Near the Westerkerk (Westerchurch), in the center of Amsterdam you can find the hiding place where Anne Frank wrote her famous diary. The Diary of Anne Frank is one of the most widely read books in the world. The original diary is on display as part of the Anne Frank Houses permanent exhibition. The museum is very busy during the season, so be prepared to wait in queue.
Opening hours
March 15 to September 14: from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm (till 10pm on Saturdays)
July and August: from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm.
September 15 to March 14: from 9:00 till 7:00pm.
Last admittance: 30 minutes prior to closing.

I would whole heartedly recommend this Amsterdam attraction. However, it's not for everyone. I would especially recommend it for those who love history. The feeling you get while touring this historic property will be like none other... bring some tissues!
